Sevelamer Carbonate Tablet
Sevelamer carbonate is an anion exchange resin, with the same polymeric structure as sevelamer hydrochloride, in which carbonate replaces chloride as the counterion. While the counterions differ for the two salts, the polymer itself, the active moiety involved in phosphate binding, is the same.
Sevelamer is used to lower high blood phosphorus (phosphate) levels in patients who are on dialysis due to severe kidney disease. Dialysis removes some phosphate from your blood, but it is difficult to remove enough to keep your phosphate levels balanced.
Iron Sucrose Injection USP
Iron Sucrose Injection is a sterile, colloidal solution of ferric hydroxide in complex with Sucrose in Water for Injection. It contains no antimicrobial agent, chelating agent, dextran, gluconate, or other added substances. Iron sucrose injection also used as iron maintenance therapy in children with dialysis-dependent (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) or non-dialysis-dependent CKD.1
Iron is important for many functions in the body, especially for the transport of oxygen in the blood. Iron sucrose injection is used to treat iron deficiency anemia in people with kidney disease. It is usually given with another medication to promote the growth of red blood cells (such as Aranesp, Epogen, or Procrit).
